Peter, difficult to judge from printed materials due to all the variations in the ink tones.
Personally I'd go for a royal blue and something like John Deere green. Sure someone will correct me on this but I'd just experiment and find what looks right to your eye. I'm sure they weren't too picky during the war as to an exacting colour match.
Please, just please, make sure you do a correct maple leaf for the formation sign. Matter of fact, I think that I still have the template from mine that I would be glad to donate to your cause...
