Default Auction difference

John Belfield chose to engage a major international auction house to handle the sale.

There was a concerted advertising campaign leading up to the sale, and there were many buyers and dealers from overseas attending.

All this equals strong competition at auction which is why the Belfield sale was so successful.

I just don't think it's realistic to expect the same competition for this collection, even if the exhibits were of a comprable standard.

By the way welcome, Chris. Where do you hail from?
