Sexton breech ring
After finally getting the Sexton and the breech ring I acquired (with the help of a certain artillery collector) in the same place at the same time, I discovered that I could not get the ring turned on the last few degree's to be able to screw the lock pin into it's recess. The barrel was sitting .012" proud of the barrel jacket and not letting the breech ring turn far enough. So, out came the tube, and now I have to get it into my lathe and shorten the shoulder on the gun tube to allow it to sit in .012" farther. Everything lined up great with the ring on the barrel jacket, with no tube in place.
The Sexton looks "toothless" without the tube in place.
