I couldn't find this by searching the forum.
I need to replace the tapered worm bearings in my 11 cab C15. I picked up a pair of tapered bearings (part no. 261866), but they are far too small and won't fit.
The ones that came out of my steering gear are approx. 1-13/16" OD, whereas the 261866 ones are a good 1/4" smaller. I noticed that the end cover doesn't look like the ones I've seen on other 11 cab C15's, so I think my steering gear
may be a later cab 13 type; it certainly looks quite close to the one in the attached first photo. Anyhow, on the side of my casing it says "SAGINAW GEAR 267977".
Can anyone out there with access to a C15 (4x2) cab 13 steering gear confirm if that is what I have? And if so, what tapered worm bearing numbers should I be looking for?
