For those readers of MLU residing in the Markham, Toronto, Pickering, Ajax, Whitby & Oshawa areas of Ontario I would like to announce the intended formation of the above named group.
A 27 acre farm property is about to be leased, on Hwy#7 north of Pickering, including a 50'x100' two level barn with well, hydro and a 1 and 1/8th mile oval dirt track suitable for "road test" purposes. Insurance issues remain to be solved for this restoration, storage, test and "club house" facility but before proceeding further I would welcome feedback on the amount of interest in such a site.
My intent is to organize a co-operative club atmosphere where that long outstanding truck/? restoration project can be completed, tested and stored. A professional body/paint shop is located nearby for those not possessing those skills. Summer events are to include miltary truck rallies, re-enactment events and under canvas miltaria shows/sales.
