Before I could start repairing the cab I need to make room in the shed to work. Best way was to stand the rear body on its rear end but I decided to remove the roof first and get that out of the way as it made the body too long to stand up and the front part unsupported was a bit too flimsy. The roof is only tack welded with arc welds every few inches externally. Unfortunately I could not access the welds to grind them away. I found the only way was to get a small drill bit and drill around the wled and then chisel between the holes. A tedious job but it caused the least distortion to the remaining solid metal. I supported the roof with a couple of planks and lifted it up with a chain block.
