Default In the paddock

Years ago when I was living in the Southern Highlands of NSW, one of my neighbours had a paddock full of ww2 trucks, tractors, Jeeps and several of those coupe utilities still in Army green and complete but with blackberries growing over them. I can't recall what make but I do have some old pics somewhere.

I very nearly bought the two rough but complete Jeeps but my then wife squashed the idea.

I had earlier bought and restored a little David Brown Cropmaster tractor with side by side seating from the family with whom I became firm friends.

Much later, the two Jeeps ended up in Sydney, stripped down and for sale $$$$
I was asked to inspect them on behalf of the WW2 Jeeps Assn. I was not impressed with what had happened to them.

Also, later, the owner of this paddock of treasure and I were instrumental in the purchase of Matilda Tank 'ACE' by the Lancer Museum - but that's another story.

Back to the utes, I doubt they are still there and would have collapsed into the blackberrys by now if so. There just was not much interest in soft skin MVs in the 1980s

If I do find the pics I will post them up

Cheers

Phill
