Default Engine identification

Thanks for that. I felt a bit foolish asking the question as I should have looked at the F60S but that is an hour away and I cannot get away at present.
The reason I asked was because we have a 3.6L engine in the F60S and want to fit the correct 3.9L one. Having just bought one in what so far looks reasonable condition (standard bores and only 7thou wear anyway) I was trying to date what I have. Stamped on the front of the block, on the mating face for the inlet manifold, is "11 54 220". I very much doubt it is the 220th engine built in November 1954 however.
