In a divisional type unit 128 on a black background is the unit sign of 'Corps Pro Coy' according to S Tauberts tac book page 176.

4th Armoured would be likely to have one of these Coy in their headquarters unit wouldn't they?

But having said that the croc over boomerang does seem to be over/under the other and normally the unit sign (128 etc) would be on the Left hand side (passenger side) with the Division sign on the Right or drivers side along with the bridge weight sign.
