While it's not military issue, it's the civillian style of fuel/oil can that sat on the running boards of cars in the 20's and 30's, and may conceivably have seen impressed service during the war. It is interesting though in that the logo embossed on the can is a combined Shell/BP. I didn't know these two companies had any connection.
