Default Georgina Military Museum Military Day

The Georgina Military Museum hosts its 3rd annual Military Day on May 28th from 10am to 4pm at the museum at 26061 Woodbine Avenue, Keswick, On. The day is in Honour of local serviceman Rob Wilson, RCR, who fell in Afghanistan in December 2008 but this year the museum is especially proud to be presenting, in conjunction with the Town of Georgina, “Welcome Home” and “Thank You” certificates to local returning or returned overseas (Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya) veterans. An event program will be available at www.georginamilitarymuseum.ca .

Along with many OMVA restored military vehicles, not to mention our own collection, the museum is proud to announce the attendance of The Queens York Rangers Regiment with a display of one of their reconnaissance G-Wagons. Also attending will be the York Rangers Cadet Corps who will perform rifle drill. The Masons will run a BBQ stand and Boston Pizza will be on hand with give-aways. Live music all day courtesy of ‘Georgina Salutes’, face painting for the kids, re-enactors and a live 25lber firing by the Limber Gunners of Toronto. Admission to the event and the museum is FREE but donations are always welcome. If you would like to display a restored vehicle please contact us through the web site (above). Come out and be part of thanking those who serve for what they do.
