British Signal Lamp

Someone has brought me what they describe as a British Signal Lamp which they want a battery for.

Although the condition of the lamp is near new the battery connector is a type which has not been used in the last 40 years that I am aware of. I will have to make up a battery for it but I need to know what voltage to make it.

If anyone has any information I would appreciate it very much.

I will try to get some photo's if that will help.

does it have a bulb and does it not have the specifics on the bulb or base?
