M2E2 Light Tank. The second turret was added to house an additional machine gun to increase firepower.
An idea that proved to be a blind alley as regards AFVs but may have influenced design of defensive armament on some models of WW2 LVTs which had a gun mounted either side toward the front within a semi-circular housing/shield. David

Dave,
I think, at minute 2.45, it's an M2A3 light tank - twin turret, angular hexagonal cupola (or an M2A3E1 if equipped with a Guiberson radial diesel). The predecessor, the M2A2, had a rounded cupola. I think there is a brief glimpse of an M2A2 (or M2A2E1 if powered by a Guiberson radial diesel) at around minute 3:27, but the majority of footage is the M2A3 with the hex cupola. As you rightly say, a blind alley when it comes to tank development. Mike |

Thanks Mike, the info I have is rather skimpy and doesn't delve into all the variations. I was counting on someone correcting me if needed and anticipated that Hanno may have had something to say as he seems to have an interest in early tanks.
