I would like some assistance identifying the applications for these jacks, please. I have a good idea on two, a little unsure on a third, and baffled by the fourth.

Firstly, this jack marked "Auto Specialties" and "Made in Canada". It has no model number or capacity, but is smaller that the two middle jacks which are marked 4 tons. I suspect that this might be for a Sedan or light pick-up?

Next are two jacks which I am reasonably sure are CMP jacks. Is there a certain brand or type used exclusively for Ford or Chev? Again, these are Marked "Auto Specialties" and "Made in Canada", but also have a model number , a 4 ton capacity and dated 1942 and 1942 respectively.

And lastly, a conundrum. This jack is smaller that the others, but is also rated at 4 tons. It is dated 1941, but has no country of origin. The maker's name is Shelley. It has a small "footprint" and has a plate measuring 7" x 8" bolted to the bottom, although I guess this is more for stowage and securing the jack than to provide stability when jacking. The plate has a chequered hatch pattern on it which looks like CMP cab flooring, but is neatly finished like a factory job with smooth edges and countersunk holes.
What country are "Shelley" from, and might this be an interim/ersatz Universal Carrier jack, as the base would fit neatly into a mounting bracket? |

Hi Tony,
The Shelley jack is one supplied to British WD in WW2. Base plate is correct. regards, Richard
