We know from the TKC number (1171) that this tank's CT number was CT159658.
There are two entries on the ramtank.ca website on this specific vehicle.

Hi Hanno,
This was based on Dave (?) list but is incomplete. I would very much appreciate a more complete list.

I can see Palm trees and something that looks like a RAM hull...
If you are suggesting that it is a Ram Kangaroo in Dutch service somewhere in the East Indies.......than I think you are right. Alex |

No idea what this photo is about but it reminds me of a cartoon from the April 1942 issue of the "Tank"...

See Ordnance Museum Data Plates #2: British & Canadian at the AFV News forum.
The data plate of Ram II WD No CT160162 / TKC 1691 / DND 76-133 has surfaced at the U.S. Army Ordnance Museum. This tank was present at Aberdeen Proving Ground, in Aberdeen, Maryland, USA, until at least December 1946 when the photograph below was taken. Now long gone, probably since the Korean War scrap drive, but luckily the data plate survives. Pictures courtesy of Neil Baumgardner. HTH, Hanno ![]() ![]() ![]()

I think you're right, Hanno... and look closely at the engine - it's too small to be an R-974 methinks...

Clive, noticed you updated the photo section. Here are a few friendly remarks to help you improve your great website:
------------------------------------------------------------------------- This is a Ram II with 75-mm gun in use by the Royal Netherlands Army as a molotov cocktail training aid: Quote:
This is Phyllis of the 1CACR. She was commanded by Sgt. Bois when she was put out of action on the "Coehoornsingel" in the city of Groningen, 14 April 1945: Quote:
These are not RAM ARVs but Sherman M32B1 TRVs, designated Sherman II ARV III in Commonwealth service: Quote:
This picture is shown twice: ![]() ------------------------------------------------------------------------- I´ll continue looking for additions. Keep up the good work! Hanno

Hanno,
Thanks for the input. I recently changed PCs and my data got so screwed up that I am afraid to upload anything to RamTank right now. I am going to install a better FTP program and suck back the website onto my PC in order to ensure that I have the latest version before adding stuff - and your 'stuff' will be the first to get added. I recently received an e-mail from a 49th Kangaroo commander, Anthony (Tony) Booth, who identified himself in one of my photos. I will be amending that photo at the same time.

Hi to all -
Brilliant find... Ref the gunnery shots showing the HQ vehs CT-40001 & CT-40016...does anyone know the unit ? I have not got these listed (yet). Also, I note that many of the shots have the DND Nos on the vehs. Does anyone have a correlation 'twixt DND & veh manufacturers number that would then allow the same with the eventual CT No ? Many thanks again Roddy |

Apologies to all -
Only just noted that the whole film covers the S Alberta Regt and the Alberta Recce Regt - so I presume that CT-40001 & CT-40016 are from RHQ Tp, S Alberta Regt ? Roddy |

Here's a photo I purchased at a flea market a few years ago. The location is apparently what is now the University of Victoria; then Gordon Head Camp. There were two others showing Universal Carriers, but no names given on those.
