Default Kiwi up the Blue

Thought Id add to this excellent thread starting with my Great Uncle, Mervyn Morgan. Mervyn shipped out from NZ with the NZEF in 1940 and landed in Egypt where he served with the 18th Battalion as Infantry. During the heavy sweeping fighting at Ruweisat Ridge he and many others were cut of and reported missing, 17 days later they turned up safe and well. He saw the North African campaign out with the 18th Battalions armoured regiment before being furloughed home in 1944. The picture is from the NZ Forces Gazette at the time, and shows his character of a having good laugh , which I well remember as a youngster.
