Default World War II cameras

Which hand held camera was most popular with British / Commonwealth troops?
Any help or photos appreciated.

Cheers
Kevin

Freely obtained German Leicas were the most popular!

Kodak Box Brownies were the most widely used. Popular from the 20's onwards, the Box Brownie was made in the US, England, Canada and Australia in huge numbers. See just some of the various types HERE.

On www.alliedforum.net there is a whole topic on war correspondents and their equipment: http://www.alliedforum.net/viewforum.php?f=106

With lots of photographs of old cameras.

Rob

From the photos I found on the Library and Archives of Canada site the Canadian military seems to favour the Anniversary Speed Graphic camera.

So are we talking cameras used by the regular troops, or professional cameras used by Correspondents and Official Photographers?
