Default George Derby Centre Celebration Sept 17, 2011

Hello,

Upcoming is the 3rd Annual Veterans Celebration at George Derby Centre in Burnaby British Columbia. Over 300 veterans live at the centre and they need our help, they have earned things the hard way and now it is our turn to do something for them.

The event is to honour our veterans and entertain them and their families. Things start at 10:00 and continue till 3:30. This will be one of the biggest shows this year and it includes the Canadian Museum of Flight, The Westminster Regiment Band, Band of the 15th Field Regiment RCA,
Vancouver Naval Veterans Band and Colour Party, singer Linda Jones aka Canada's Vera Lynn, Korean Dance Society, CFB Chilliwack Historical Society, Hong Kong Vets, RUSI, BC Veterans Commemorative Assn, 3rd CAV, etc.

All MLU members are welcome to just visit the event or bring a vintage military vehicle; all military vehicles will be parked right at the front of the building close to the main entrance, just look for the large George Derby Sign and three flags. Setup before 9:30, earlier is best (7:30 to 9:30) and lunch is provided plus Tim Horton's. The bar opens at 2:00pm - no kidding.

Anyone that brings a vehicle can stay as long as they would like, you are not required to stay until closing. Jeff Davis's son Riley will be piping and Jeff is bringing his carrier plus we will have two FATS, one with limber and gun.

Address: 7550 Cumberland Street, Burnaby, BC. Email or call Guy if you have any questions, gmblack@telus.net or (604) 937-7673
