Can anyone give me a definative answer on the weight of a Mk11* Carrier based on actually weighing one.
I am assuming approx 3,500kg unladened but others are saying less. I need this information to make a decision on what size truck to move my carrier. |

Neil,
The page below gives a weight of 5 tons> http://www.mapleleafup.org/vehicles/carriers/index.html Wikipaedia gives the weight as 3.75 tonnes. This site gives the weight as 4.31 tonnes. http://www.stenboye.dk/carrier/ And this one gives a weight of 4 to 4.5 tons. http://www.angelfire.com/art/enchanter/bren.html There again, there are those on the Forum who will leap to your assistance with utmost alacrity ![]() ![]() Paul. I have always reguarded the average restored carrier to be around 7000lbs, considering that one rarely has two full petrol tanks, no ammo, no personal kit, few tools etc. A truck of suitable towing power (like a chev2500) equipped with a flatdeck trailer w/ 2 x 3500lb axles should do. I think this is what Stewart Loy uses to cart his around with...
