Default Bad URLs

Hi John:

I see you're having the same problem I had recently; the URLs don't paste in properly and are missing big chunks.

I'd love to see the photos you found but can't!

Jiff, if you're monitoring what can we luddites do to paste in URLs properly?

Mike

Mike,

Far be it from me as a mere infanteer to advise one of Her Majesty's Gunners, but try clicking on the links presented? They're actually live, just compressed for the purposes of the Forum itself. As absurd as it may seem, they actually work...

You´re not trying to teach an old dog (who never did anything else than haul ammo and yank a cord) new tricks, eh Geoff?

Default If I Were a Marryin' Maid....

Gunners lend dignity to what would otherwise be a vulgar brawl:

In the words of an old Gunner chanty-

If I were a marryin' maid, and thank the Lord I'm not, Sir!
The only man that I would wed would be the Number One, Sir!
And he'd shout, "Fire!" and I'd shout, "Fire!; we'd both shout, "Fire!" together... it'd be all right in the middle of the night shoutin', "Fire!" together!

The rest of the detachment get their share:

Number Two- he' pull the cord and I'd pull the cord...
Number Three- he'd lay it on and I'd lay it on...
Number Four- he'd ram it home and I'd ram it home...
Number Five- he'd plant pole and I'd plant pole... (the aiming posts!)
Number Six- he'd pull the wire and I'd pull the wire... (the tannoy; geez, get your minds out of the gutter!)
Number Seven- he'd trim the fuse and I'd trim the fuse...
The GPO- he'd get us lost and I'd get us lost...
The F-O-O- he'd lay barrage and I'd lay barrage...
The old BC- he'd buy the beer and I'd buy the beer...

Anyway. I figured out the problem- due to the firewall on our system I have to cut and paste the URLs- the active part just don't work!

Mr. Gunner, Sir, you have just undone yourself. You will please supply us with a complete set of lyrics & music, such that we might make this our own song at our next together. I'm sure the young lassies at Gracie's will appreciate our unique contribution to their social melieu....

Carry on, there's a good chap.
