Default Wow!!!

Thanks Wim, there is so much to look at in those clips - my lunch break at work ran double the time it should! I reckon the people who run the site should release a DVD.

Wow, lots of interesting stuff! LCT's ramming into "Belgian gates", Experimantal "Giraffe" ......(Bedford QL with lifted Cab and small box??), several wading solutions.

Thanks Wim! Alex

What an amazing site !. I've just spent the last 2 hours thoroughly absorbed with the footage. Thanks for the heads up on this one, Wim. Have any of you spotted the CMP Portee descending from a LCT, running into trouble ? , and one of the last films show a Hillman ? Utility being lowered onto a 3 tonner in the water, could this be a CMP ?. Watching the waterproofing of a Ford GPW (with sound) is just amazing !, agree with Noel, this should be released on a DVD. Gordon, Not only is there a WK 60 shown, but the early WC 52 also seems to be going well (until the GMC has to go and help him !)
Thanks again
Keith

Default Still keep finding stuff

Check out the tracked stretchers - definately a "back to the drawing board" moment
And there are some radar trailers, and, and ...I think I'm going to explode!

I agree that these historically important filmclips should be available on a DVD (the Argosy test was the most interesting to me), but I'm a bit bemused as to how they claim copyright on them - I'll assume the British Ministry of Defence rather than Limelight TV was the originator. It's common to have a watermark on video clips and I have no problem with that, but the copyright claim is a bit rich methinks. Or am I wrong?

Steve.

Just re-visited this site and note that there are some diferent clips on there now and some of the original clips have dissapeared. Unfortunately perhaps, as far as MLU is concerned, it mostly the vehicle related clips which have dissapeared. We can now see more shots of US infantry in training and it is even more clear that the clips displayed are excerpts from larger sequences.
I never got a reply to my e-mail to Limelight abut the possibility of a DVD, did anyone else contact them?
