Would guess that somebody burned some CMP rather than Bedfords.
Area should be the 'inland route' between Derna and Barce.... |

Sadly, they do appear to be Bedford OY lorries on fire, another one is pulled off the road in front.

What about 'Martuba'? That would perfectly fit with my guessing further above. This was the area of the airfiled on top of the escarpment near Derna.
The Bedford driving up the road is not at Martuba. It was never that big in the wartime. I would rather say that this is in fact Tobruk. The last picture with the truck in front of the hills was taken near Tocra (east of Benghazi). |

"Barce" was one of the main settlement of the Itaian colonists. If you have the map in front of you. Got to Benghazi, follow the coast to east until Tocra. Then up the hills and then you will find "Barce". Nowadyas it is called "al-Marj". Place was destroyed by an earthquake in 1963 and erected new some kms west of the old place. but the remnants of the old city are still there...
