Default Wanted;F60L data plates

Hello M.L.U. Members,
I am an old member but still have not bought a computer of my own yet but brought home a Ford 3 tonner for my Ambulance box a few weeks ago and have already started stripping it for a complete rebuild.I even traded in my small Princess auto sandblaster for the floor model to do as many pieces I can over winter to get a good jump start come spring!
My Ford is very complete and the parts that were missing on it I have found in my stash of CMP parts I have been saving over the years.
The trouble is the most important part I need to use the truck are the data plates on the door which 2 of the 3 are missing! I have the left data plate saying it is a F60L but the middle and the right plate are missing which I need to register the truck when it is done. A search for the serial number on the frame found no number.
I know very well that CMP data plates are rare as I have owned 5 in the past and only 2 had the plates still attached. I have also been reading the threads on the forum and see other people are also looking for plates for there vehicles!
If anybody out there has a set of plates for a Ford 60 cwt long I could buy or trade would get my truck registered and on the road when it is done.The truck will be an ambulance and to find a set of plates for one would be too good to be true so any plates would be acceptable(beggers can't be choosers)!
To help anyone out there with there data plate problems,I have 2 sets of data plates for trade that the vehicles were picked clean and scrapped;
1-Chevrolet gun tractor,set of 3 plates
2-Chevrolet 30cwt dump,set of 3 plates

The few items I still need to find are;
Horn button center cover
crank guide that bolts to middle of bumper
shifter knob for both trans. and Hi Lo sticks

I will also be looking for any pictures anyone may have of the inside layout of the Ambulance box and the equipment inside!
Thanks in advance for any assistance you can provide in the restoration of my first CMP. I will try to be on the computer more often this winter but if you want to get ahold of me I can be reached at;

Hi Derk,

Welcome to this forum!

Is this the type of Ambulance you are restoring?

Regards,
Hanno

Default Ford ambulance

Hi George,
If the lights were for my Mk 1 carrier then they worked out great.My carrier turned out well with most of the equipment now there with a few pieces left to find but then there never really complete are they? My energy is now on this Ford C.M.P. that I brought home for my Ambulance body.
I was very lucky to find such a complete C.M.P. that still runs.The door has Markings; RCASCTC (Royal Canadian army service corp training centre?)and I believe 64-?. There was a flat bed on the truck with an army Data plate 1964 which I dropped off in Rob Love's yard(thank's Rob).
I will borrow a camera and take some pictures and post them in the future.

Hi Hanno,
The picture of the ambulance you show looks like a 3 ton but mine has the spare tire carrier between the cab and box .Nice picture.The Ford 30 cwt ambulance did not have a spare tire carrier as it was a 134'' wheel base.

Thanks for the help!
Derk.

Default Ford serial number

Hi Dirk,

As far as the registration you can use the engine number from your Ford. Ford Motor Co. used the engine number for registrations for many years.

Default Publications listed on the FAT data plate

Without being in the same location as the manuals to check it, I'm a little surprised to see the 197 spare parts list listed on a vehicle made in 1943.

The maintenance manual MB-B is a new one to me, has anyone got information on it? Another way of describing one of the MB-C1 or MB-C2? Codespeak for the earlier combined operator's and maintainer's book?

Default data plates

The data plates were on a gun tractor I bought years ago and I am the one that took them off the vehicle before stripping it of all it's useful parts and scrapping the rest. Derk.
