The only upgrade that I ever heard of for the earlier jeeps was to go to the Cdn3 style of self actuating brakes. There are/were kits available which included new backing plates along with drums. The difference that the self actuating brakes have is appreciable. I believe the Cdn3 used 10" drums, and the add on kits available have 11" drums.

The upgrade I was told was a increase in wheel cylinder size a 1" on the back and a 1 1/8 on the front but I was wondering if anyone has done this and would you put a 1 1/4 to equal out the load?
