Dave Walker ex RN(MVT) and myself braved the cold conditions today selling poppies for the RBL outside the historic town hall of the ancient border town of Berwick on Tweed...could have done with one of gregs canadian parkas! regards malcolm

Unless it was -30C in the UK, you will not need a parka. Anything warmer than that in Canada is T shirt weather! hehehehe

Indeed Ed. There really are only two seasons in Canada. Too soft to skate and too hard to swim.
BTW, the parka is just the outer layer on top over a sweater, a combat shirt or flannel shirt, and long sleeve cotton underwear, scarf, tuque or full face balaclava, arctic mitts (with a fur snot-wiper pad on the back) and anti-contact cotton gardening gloves. I doubt the city authorities would approve of even broken-down war veterans leaving a crop of arctic turnips .... ![]()
