Hi I am back after a long absence due to illnesses. It is good to be back.
I finally resumed my search and found the UC in the woods close to where where I live. We are going to go get more pics and details this weekend. Many thanks to my Friend Randy who helped in so many ways! We now have a lead on another carrier! Wish us luck

This machine used to be owned by the Burns Lumbering Company and was used to haul supplies and as a general workhorse. I met the man who was the last person to drive it back in early 60s. He removed the last cabin of the company with it and then was told to park it and leave it in the bush.
Interesting the old cabin was seen to be worth more to recycle than the carrier. He gave me fairly detailed notes on where to find it and a CMP. The CMP I found right where he said it was. The carrier proved more elusive! At some point it had been found and dragged on to private property not too far from where it was originally abandoned. And there it sat. (we are trying to locate/contact the owner about purchasing it) The pics are the result of a lot of digging! LOL! Literally there was a whack of snow on it. We were pretty tired by then. It seems to be a Mk1 but I will try this weekend to get out again and see if I can find the engine Serial number. None of the hull numbers exist anymore! All upper hull plates have been removed long ago to reduce weight. We also have a lead on a 3rd UC not too far from here. We hope to have more info about that one soon.

I'd love to have the resources to be able to find and save this sort of stuff, even if it was just a case of dragging it back, cleaning it down, and parking it inside somewhere covered in diesel.

My daughter ran the drug store in Halliberton .We drove by your town a few years ago to see her I kept thinking there is soo much bush like 100s of miles there has got to be some carriers in this part of Canada The ones I have except one, came from saw mills .They were cheep track machines for the loggers . There was two north of Halliberton One about 14 miles NW and the other at the ski hill I have the most fun looking of these things .When you buy it ,you have to go to work .The last one I found has steering leavers in the center like a Loyd carrier and is painted black . I sure would like to go with you on your next venture and remember a rumour is a rumour till proven otherwise .I put 250 machines in a museum and have found some great things by not giving up on the chase
