Default Duct tape????

Gentlemen: Now this may sound "off the wall", but during a meeting today on one of my projects, the question came up as to... WHO INVENTED DUCT TAPE AND WHY? My client read some where that Duct Tape was invented by the US Army during WW11. AND NO !!!! IT WAS NOT INVENTED BY "Red Green" the Canadian Icon who made duct tape a house hold word in Canada!

Anyone out there have any info or insight as to this querie?

Stumped in Vancouver.....Robert
