Carrier at the Swiss Military Museum

I am not a specialist in respect of carriers. I just thought, the pics of the carrier in the exhibition of the Swiss Military Museum might find some interest here:

The istory of this vehicle in brief:

- Manufactured in UK in 1941
- Used by the Belgian Army after the war
- Recovered from a scrapyard in Belgia in 1983
- Brought back to its original condition by members of the Swiss Army Museum.

I know that the Swiss Army used the carrier as well after the war, until the 1960ies when it was replaced by the M.113. Unfortunately I have no further details about. Here the last 5 photos:

very nice mortar carrier... never seen the mesh system used in the radiator apperture on the bulkhead before..... the towing eye bolts are not original, but none the less a nice carrier :-)

Hi Kuno

I think you mix the carrier up with the T16s the Swiss used after the war. I've never heard that we've used Bren Gun Carriers.

T16, right - I thought that this is an universal carrier as well. Was it a totally different vehicle?

yes T16 is a larger version of the universal it was controlled by tillers rather than the wheel, and has two bogey assemblies rather than one and a half (so four road wheels rather than three)
