Default 4 photos for Ford FAT fans

Guys,

Here are four photos of a Ford FAT sitting there waiting for someone to restore it. If you are interested, let me know. I'm not capable of taking this one on too and there isn't any use it sitting out there in the elements unnecessarily.

Regards, Richard

Default Nice find.......

.....lots missing BUt still a lot of good parts that can be salvaged.

Looks like an early Ford gun tractor with the very small cab 11 hood. Some very good sheet metal on the nose....... winch is still attached and will fit on a regular F15a or larger. The CMP trailer hitch is sitting loose on the frame and I would guess that the rear fairleads are still in place...... similarly the fairlead on the front bumper is worth saving.

Interesting set of wheels/rims were contructed to accommodate agricultural tractor tires......

I would be curious to know / see pictures .... of the front axle to verify if it is a standard CMP F15a axle or the peculiar heavy duty cast axle they used early in the war........ the HD axle has no bolted cover on the central pumpkin but a solid one piece cast axle with extra re-inforcement ribbing where the spring U bolt attach.

It could be a valuable donor vehicle for someone rebuilding one........ possible interested parties might be Stew Robertson (Acton On ) or Mike Calhan (Kars, ON)

Keep searching...

Default Cab 11 FAT

Hi Richard:

I would indeed be interested in acquiring the Cab 11 FAT as we are facing the challenge of overhauling one up here near Ottawa.

I'm out of the country right now but would be interested in chatting with you when I get back in two weeks.

Cheers! Mike

Default FAT overhaul pieces

Mike,

Send me an email when you are back. I know of where another one is located that may also have pieces on it that you are looking for. Hopefully, it can help you get another FAT one on the road!

Richard

Stew,

Just sent you an email. Let me know what you need and hopefully, you can get this FAT out of the mud and back on the road - in some form or other!
