In short Rick, it does'nt.
A little "Movie Magic" was used to bring a concept to life.
Would take the fun out of going off road would'nt it.

Default Yes it does work

They got this levitation car to work in Washington DC but it was limitations, it will only work with two politicians on board. They were the only ones who could produce enough hot air.

When I first saw the picture I thought it was one of those single wheel contraptions where you ride in the centre of the wheel, but I guess it just runs on hot air.
