Default Wheels

The wheels look military but I don't think they are Blitz. They have 6 studs like a C8AX but they have sixteen studs holding the rim halves together, the C8AX had twelve.

Correct me if I'm wrong, it's happened before.

Cheers
Rod

to me they look like 18 inch wheels that are fitted to a lot of trailers, the one at Corowa on the semi had those rims

Default Trailer wheels

Max is correct , these wheels and axles where fitted to trailers made in the early fifties and fitted with 7.50 x18 tyres.
The hub itself is the same / similar to that used on the Ford Blitz semi trailer axle and run 10.50x18 tyres.

Default blitz trailers

Looking through old threads about Blitz trailers. I'm looking for pics of one described to me over the phone today.
Described as being ex council from the 1940s-1950s but possibly ex army. Blitz rims/tyres (size unknown), heavy duty, trailer around 6x4 size or a touch bigger, tipping, and looking like a roman chariot.
Ring any bells to anyone?
Does anyone have photos of the trailers built post war described by Jim earlier in this thread?

Default Coventy Climax GODIVA pump trailer.

The chariot description is the giveaway, do an image search for that. Civil Defence and fire service use, not uncommon, nice unit, but normally found behind Austin K2 Fire Tenders I think, here you go;

See the chariot similarity? You would find these Commonwealth-wide, for sure, and I think the design goes back before 1939

Thank guys for the replies.
Gordon, interesting trailer, you could be on the money. hopefully I'll get up there to see it in the next few weeks.
Lang, thanks, he was sure it was fitted with Blitz rims and was tipping too. He did say it was in good nic apart from a rotted floor.

Another one currently on E-bay.

Wheels and hubs look the type we're talking about here, while the floor pan looks like it has openings for Sidevalve V8 exhaust and drain holes?? Maybe a Generator/Compressor/Welder?? Looks to have lots of POL can brackets around the sides.

This is 10mins from my house. Have spoken to the owner. Apparently it was complete late last year and on ebay but attracted no bids. So it was cut up and the engine/radiator sold off to someone after a sidevalve.

The trailer I was talking about earlier is now on ebay. And it doesn't look Blitz related.
