Working through the F15A project, a question about the vehicle serial number has come up. According to our understanding, there was no serial number stamped on the frame, rather the serial number was stamped on the transmission housing. Is this correct?
None of the trucks obtained for the project had any of the Publication Plate, the Vehicle Code Plate, the Chassis Record Plate or a Body Plate remaining. |

Most of the ones here (but by no means all) have the chassis number (same as the engine number) stamped on the top or vertical face of the right chassis rail behind the engine mount, the top rail location being completely hidden by cab and splash panels.
