Hello
To end the restoration of my FORD Canada F60L Cab number 13 builded in 1945, I have dismounted the front wheels cylinders and I have discovered one big problem. On the left side there is a wheel cylinder with a bore of 1’ ½ and on the right side a wheel cylinder with a bore of 1’ 3/8. I think that it was due to a lack of parts , so French army put what “they could found” and also because my truck was used only inside military camp to learn to drive a truck for young soldiers. As I have founded no information on the TM book (except of part number and the fact that they said that front and rear wheel cylinder were of different size) I have read the pages of the forum about “modern part number for CMP”. On the listing of Jeff CALDWELL there is no information about F60L wheels cylinder (only for F15A) About F60L I have understood that the twice rear wheel cylinder were WAGNER WC 4511 or RAYBESTOS WC4511 with a bore of 1” ½ but I will be aware by the knowledge of the bore of the front wheel cylinder and also it’s new number for an order in USA. Thanks to every answer |

The correct cylinders for the later 3 ton CMPs was 1 1/2" front and rear. The smaller ones were used only with the light steering ends and smaller brakes.

Serge if you go to this thread: modern part numbers you'll see there are equivalents for all sorts of things.
Here's the rear wheel cylinder number: Raybestos WC4511 I have never been to Normandy, so it may have been another Aussie you met back in 2004.
