Default Chev land speed record attempt

Please excuse the fuzzy pic I had to photograph it from Extreme machines on the TV.
This pic from the 60s in Adelaide South Australia is of a blitz on its way to Lake Eyre for the world land speed record attempt.
The petrol consumption at 400 MPH must have been massive, just check out the size of the big blue fuel tank on the trailer.

Default Wonder if

I wonder if a search on the speed attempt would show any other CMP support vehicles?

That is a great photo.

Cheers Phil

Remarkably the trailer still survives.

Default speed transport

Hey Graeme,
You think the fuel consumption at 400MPH was heavy, that nothing compared to the semi trailer blitz getting it there. I recall that pic in the middle page of the Herald Sun many years ago.

Default CMP workshop

Thanks Paul for the link. I liked the camp pic showing a workshop Blitz for support. So not only did a blitz tow Bluebird out to lake Eyre but they used a workshop truck to maintain it.

They sure knew how to do things properly in those days.
