Default Thronycroft in Tel Aviv

Hi Everyone,

Here are two pics of the same Thornycroft, taken in 1966 and 1973.

I'd be grateful for any info you can shed on this one.

Thanks!

Yohay

Default I've seen photos of similar truck

Hi Yohay

The pictures you posted jump out in my mine as if I've seen this type someplace before. Took a moment then grabbed one of Bart Vanderveens books.

Here is what I found-

I'm pretty sure there was an Wheels and Tracks article as well.

Cheers Phil

They are by the way pig heavy to steer, I had mine out of the barn a couple of weeks ago.

The June 2015 issue of Heritage Commercials has an interesting article about EMA ( Electric-Mobile-Aerodrome) cranes and their later fitting to the Thornycroft Amazon Coles crane and other chassis. This article is continued into the July issue with much more information and lots of photos.

Here is the cover and the main photo. I hope I am not going against a copyright issue here as it is promoting their magazine in some way.

Regards Rick.
