What role did the Daimler Dingo or Lynx play? (was: New Guy Here)

Hello

I have search Hi and Low and have not found what I am looking for. What Role Did the Daimler Dingo or Lynx play within the Armoured Regiment HQ, Armd Recce regiment and the Armd Car regt. I see there were 2 Dingos and 2 Bigger ones what did they do. Also I cannot find any pictures of Dingos in a Regiment June 1944 and on. Please help. Thanks in Advance.
