Thought id post a few pics of the carrier a friend and i picked up from the back of charleville.....i was told before leaving home that the hull was in very good condition and mostly complete requiring only minor work to restore..
Luckily the missing plate was only side armor and with a big hammer and a lot of swearing ive slowly managed to turn it bck into something that now actually looks like a carrier... |

Welcome to the forum Darren. I think you take the biscuit as regards having the poorest start to a U.C. restoration I've yet seen.
This will in fact be more a resurrection than a restoration. Please keep us posted on your progress. David

Welcome and congratulations Darren. As Dale has already asked, I'd be interested to find out the hull number to add it to my database, and if you need any bogie spindles (the long rod that goes through the springs with a castellated nut on either end) I have them NOS.

All these wrecks are around charleville....of course the last one being in near complete un cut condition is not for sale but the owner doesnt know what to do with it .....always the way...
The other wrecks i managed to salvage a full set of wheel stations and mine also came with a complete set of tracks that were dragged out of the scrap metal pile... |

Another updated pic of my bren gun carrier having some more plates tacked into place...its now slowly starting to look like a carrier again.
I also included a pic of my jeep driving across a railway bridge, a few friends and i went out last weekend to a dis used track and had a bit of a play, we managed a top speed of 45 miles an hour before having to slow down for a bridge crossing. A wasnt real keen on going over the bridge at that speed, its a bloody long way down. |
