Default Canadian Dry Pin track links

a friend of mine in the western US is in need of 30 or so CDP track links, any condition, with or without pins. If anyone is tired of stumbling over a pile of them let me know.

Regards
John

Weren't some of the Madill spar yarders mounted on Canadian tracks ... ? There are other similar steel tracks, and I've never been good at remembering the subtle differences.

I have scrapped about six yarders in the last few years for the drive train parts, not many of the early style VVSS suspension units left, more of the later HVSS units and even these are getting scarce as they convert them to excavator style undercarriage. So chances of coming across a VVSS with CDP is getting increasingly slim

What is a final drive off a spar yarder worth on the scrap market? (Which is of course a different question than what is it 'worth?'.)

I assume you mean the complete front drive with differential and final drives? Well you can pick them up anywhere from 2-10k...depends on condition, lots of them have the strip where they bolt into the hull torched off the armoured nose casting making that part scrap...also they love to screw with the hubs and sprockets to make them sit out farther and then they widen the tub for more stability...and they are also becoming aware that these are "Sherman" tank parts and that restored Sherman's sell in the 1-500k range...so lets just say it varies. Plus I have bought more than one differential over the years that upon opening, was full of busted teeth and junk parts...often the reason the yarder gets retired or re-fit, so you pays your money and you takes your chances...but if you have a Sherman or Sexton etc. Once these parts are gone...your in trouble, so it makes sense to have as many around as you can
