At this year's Huntsville Remembrance Day Ceremonies, I introduced myself to a veteran who was interested in the Legion's MK-II* universal carrier that participated in the town parade. He told me that while he was not familiar with carriers, he was very familiar with CMP trucks. Further conversation revealed that he was a CMP truck driver instructor from 1943 to 1945 in the Aldershot, UK area. He spent time training CMP drivers at Camp Elstead where they had a "bull pen" that contained just about every type of obstacle that a CMP truck would encounter. Unfortunately, he doesn't have any pictures of his time there and other than being identified on a map on Pg. 25 of the Drive To Victory Vol. 1 book, I can't find anything else. Does anyone have any references to the "Bull Pen" that they are willing to share? The veteran's name is Charles Roddington.
