I have fast finished my doors repro, could anyone give me the size of the "hole" under the outside door handle?

Sylvain,

Good to see the FAT coming back to life; Excellent work on the doors. I am not sure which hole you mean. Are they not in the pics/measurements I posted?

regards,

Alex

I think Harle is referring to finding different shape patterns for the pentagonal recess the door handle fits into. Another Ford/Chev variation, perhaps?

In addition to perhaps being a Ford/Chev variation, Harle, it might also be something that evolved through the design changes from Cab 11 to Cab 12 to Cab 13.

We may need to look at each FAT Type in detail to sort it out.

Cheers,

David

Default Seems thew difference is CGY vs FGT

Here are some pictures from my archives...... Chevrolet seems to be centered and Ford is odd shaped.

Caution..... the main body structure where done by different manufacturers and that may also make a difference.

Picture 1 and 2 are of a very very early cab 11.... no idea tag.....has the early Heavy Duty cast rear axle and HD cast front axle.

Picture 3 is Ford Gun Tractor BUT body was a complete repro.......

Picture 4 is a claimed cab 12 FGT with similsr shape to the Chev.....

May have another Chev cab 11 ...... hang in there.

Default More psiture of an early cab 11 but with air vent

.... this one had a standard small style GM front axle and a standard GM CMP rear axle.

Pic 1 is a claimed FGT....... door looks like a Chev????
Pic 2 and 3 are a cab 11 Chev with Chev even door cut out..... this would have been a later cab 11 with air vents and later standard CMP axles.

Hoping that these can be helpful/////

Bonne chance Harle

hello
Thank you for your interess

It's right that body have many small differences .

I also think the shaped one is most ofen seen on ford.

The black and grey picture 1 look to be a chevy and not a ford , looking at the bumper an the mirror bracket?

So I will make a shaped one copy of alex's pictures , and will post a picture as it will be done.

Thank you again

Sylvain

Here are those I have:
The unrestored,
The restored (That FAT is really a mix of FGT and CGT)
and a spare hole.
Sylvain let me know if you need any measurements or the spare.
