Default Khaki Green G3....any brands selling a good match?

Does anyone know if there is any commercially available paint , which is a good match for Khaki Green? Either tins or spray cans?
Just asking, before having paint mixed according to Mike Starmers descriptions.

Alex,

One would think the various sellers in the UK could supply this? Try the MilWeb Military Paint, Canvas and Consumables section, there are two advertisers there currently.

Another option could be this supplier in Germany militaerlacke.de, they are focussing on military vehicle restorers (at least more than the generic paint suppliers do). For example, they claim they mix their paint in matt, semi-matt or gloss, rather than matting down a gloss base paint. Prices are not too bad either. They carry post-war British colours, maybe they are willing to add the wartime series to their range?

Let us know what you end up doing, eh?

HTH,
Hanno

Default Khaki green G3

Hi,

there is also a Czech company selling various camouflage colors, British, Wehrmacht, US. I am using the British S.C.C. No. 2 and it matches perfect. Unfortunately the site is in Czech only, but the guy might know English. Prices around 10Eur per liter. Sells in cans. Matt or Semi-matt and gloss.

Dusan, Hanno,

thanks for your responces. I have just sent out an email to Aura Design that Dusan mentioned. I will keep you updated what I come up with.

Also looking for experiences of others with firms that might sell premixed SCC2and Khaki Green G3.

If I go the route of having my own paint mixed, than I would prefer a local paintshop, so I can go back and forth to get the right shade....we have seen that G3 in particular is a difficult colour, because it's right between green and brown.

I ordered some Khaki Green G3 from Tomas at Auradesign.eu, which arrived today. I hope to find some time soon to test the paint and will keep you all updated.
The service was very good. The only downside is that they don't have any paint samples/chips available, so that's why I ordered a small amount to test the paint first.

They use a scale as follows:

1 - gloss
2 - semi-gloss (not available)
3 - semi-matt
4 - semi-matt plus
5 - matt

The cans I ordered are Semi-matt plus.

thanks again guys,
Alex
