I've been ask by other LP2 owners who don't use the internet that well to post on the MLU about data plates . So can someone give us a run down on LP2 carrier Data plates the diff between each maker and shape and where they were located on the hull also I was sent a photo of a shift speed plate on the dash upper left corner . I know the late Bob had info on his web site about plates . Also has any one had VR 1942 blank data plates repro before .. I would like to buy one ..Dale

| Data Plates

I have had some cast , LP2A plates , can either mount on top of dash or on top of the front R/H mudguard, depending on what build number in the production series. There appears to be a different plate for the LP2 also , this is from the New Zealand perspective.

Hi Petr, What are you asking? Do you want the dimensions of an earlier British plate? I believe they were all the same as the one you posted unless you are going back to pre universal plates which were bigger and carried more data.

Hi Lynn, not the earlier, but universal carrier plates preferably. I guess too that they were the same size as this mortar one, but cant prove it.

Hi Petr, The rectangle is 192mm long by 48mm wide. The holes are 5.7mm dia. The length over the lugs, is 207mm. The boarder is about 9.7mm wide,on the sides and about 6.8mm at the ends and the letters are about 8.7mm high. The stamped T number digits are about 5.7mm high. This is from a British 3 inch Mortar carrier. War Department number T80908. (Wolseley) The letters vary in width with the "M" being 10mm wide and the "R" is only 7mm wide. There are no extra stampings on my plate like the plate you posted. (No No1 MkII or WT)

Hi Petr, the border is 4.8mm thick. There is a pattern to the back ground, not unlike a fine woven cloth. relief is about 1.0mm
