I recently found a reference on another website regarding the 1957 Canadian Military Vehicle Census, specifically referring to the post war, spinoff of the excelsior Welbike, the Brockhouse Corgi, also marketed by Indian as the papoose. The question I have here, how do I access this data, to confirm it? Does anyone here have access to this data? Can anyone here shed some light on this matter? inquiries elsewhere have not been productive so far.
Thank You! Grant |

Could the manual you are talking about be the "Generic listing of Vehicle and Tracked Equipments, Engineering Equipments and Attachments showing Census Code Numbers"?
I have a photocopy of the 1960 Edition, and the Brockhouse Engineering Corgi is listed in the same configuration code as the Triumphs. The code is 140101 and the term for that code is "Motorcycle, solo, light, w/e". The old code was 2001. The 4 models of bike mixed into that code include the Triumph TRW Mk2b (1956-1957), the Triumph model TR5 (1953) the Triumph TRW (1950), and the Brockhouse Corgi Mk4 (1953). Not really any other info in there. The weight and dimensions given for the ECC could be for any one of those bikes...only one set of dimensions is given. |
