Default Morsehead's truck

https://nla.gov.au/nla.obj-174582609...e/n25/mode/1up

A friend of mine who lives locally was a Captain in the army reserve unit that transported this vehicle from Bandiana to Canberra. Ken was in charge of the operation . I see the magazine is dated 1983. We had look over this vehicle during the club trip to Bandiana in 1978. In some ways it would have been a more interesting exhibit if it was left in its original condition, as it was in 78, rather than being repainted/refurbished.

Default Original condition?

Hi Mike,

Curious to know what you think its 'original condition' was.

I don't know much of the previous history, if it had gone through any refurbishment or post war modifications before we laid eyes on it in 78. But from memory ( long time ago ) , it appeared to be in the original wartime livery, much faded and run down from years of storage but still not dilapidated in any sense. We were allowed full access of the exhibits back then, we crawled over and through and under everything on display. Not sure of it's structural integrity at the time, I am not a museum curator or coach builder. The interior of the Morsehead's truck was , to us, quite original in appearance, we could see the original finish on the woodwork was scratched and marked.

One of those subjective calls. One persons opinion.
