Default Bob C. - New Purchases?

Bob,

Rumour has it that you purchased a parts truck or three ... Were they the ones located near Almonte? Regardless good to hear you saved them ... I'm sure everyone would be interested to hear your story.

Default Went looking for a few spare lug nuts and....

...came back with 4 tons of cold hard steel.

They are not much to look at and only a mother could love them but.... they were going to the crusher..... and you guys suggested that I should get myself a parts truck(s).

Don dingwall was with me on this "sortee" and did nothing to restrain me...... which is a good thing.

Basically 3 complete frames.... full power train..
engine, tranny, transfer case, axles, rims, two gas tanks which I needed badly... One C60... on water truck Chev and a C15 GS cab 13... or at leasts what is left of the cab allowed us to ID as a 13.....

Two were delivered last night and the last one is expected on Thursday. I do not plan to make big bucks on these but salvage what is good .. trade parts I have no need for and have some spares for my cab 11 power train which I have yet to fully examine for mechanical soundness.

...at least I will not have to worry about getting 5 lug nuts anymore.

Also took the opportunity to leave the scrap dealer with a home made poster of the various CMP models that we collectors would appreciate having a first hand before they are sent to crushers. These scrap dealers go from farm to farm cleaning up old steel.... tool sheds and barns..... they have no knowledge of what is good or scrap.... anyways it is worth the effort.... even if I do not buy them I can at least put the guy on to some of our CMP people.... we save the parts and he gets better return on his scrap.

Once I get things sorted out as to what is good... and what I need and intend to keep....I will post a list of what is available.

Needless to say I will have some fun time over the next few weekends carefully dismantling parts and learning more about these wonderful machines.

Will no doubt make for a nice fire side discussion at Chatsworth....
