Wartime cab modifications
https://oldchevytrucks.com/blog/2010...i-cab-changes/ https://oldchevytrucks.com/blog/2010...-door-handles/ GMC timing gear mod. The factory fitted camshaft timing gear on these Chev. and GMC engines was made from a moulded fibre material, the gear isn't strong , the teeth fail. A replacement aftermarket Aluminium gear is available and is a worthwhile modification for reliability. Early Holden cars here suffered from the same issue. At the Corowa event some years ago, a GMC CCKW, it's timing gear broke apart. https://oldchevytrucks.com/blog/2010/02/timing-gear/ The home page: https://oldchevytrucks.com/blog/2018...icle-listings/

Found that the bottom seat cushions were civilian. Modified left rear corner to clear an in cab fuel fill pipe! NOT necessary for Military trucks-do not use an in cab fuel tank, but still Chev modified those seat structures? Newc

Although looking similar, there are differences in the overall shape of the GM-H built and the US Lend Lease Chevrolet cabs.
I've heard that the windscreen will not changeover . These are South Australian library pics of the Australian cabs.Jigs holding the panels together before welding. Pics of individual panels after stamping. They used a lead filler method on the roof panel join.

Must have been a hands on labour intensive method of manufacture, before today's robots.
