You have all heard of soldiers bringing back souvenirs from the war...... revolvers, grenade, etc..... and of course some tried to smuggle gold back to Canada...... well only the american soldiers would do that according to the Hollywood scripts.....
Well Rob Clarke has found how soldiers brought back solid gold by casting them into CMP parts. Now the part has to be big to make it worth while..... easily installed ans removed from a truck while inside port secure areas......... how about the shock absorber bracket that bolts to the back of the read axle cover...?? See picture of the solid gold bracket that came from his HUPmobile when we sandblasted parts today....compare to the cheap plain steel casting from my cab 11.... .... as anyone else ever seen this???? Rob is hoping to cash it in and build a CMP restoration garage!!!

It got kind of hot yesterday, eh Bob? The "gold" actually came off of one of the larger and older trucks ('43 C-30 I believe...). It will make a nice paperweight.
