Greetings all:
I've just gotten a 1:35 scale Revell injection moulded kit of the type mentioned above in the header. It has to be the ugliest beast of a vehicle that I've ever seen...but it's getting to me! ![]() Can anyone in the Forum direct me to a site which has more info on this vehicle? According to the write up contained in the kit, of a total production run of 2406, only 388 were eventually produced. A somewhat rare item, I should think, if any survived. Question to David Hayward, who I hope is lurking about,....does the census number L4698427 come up on your database for this vehicle type?

There was one about 30 miles from me, but that was 15 years agao - don't know what happened to it. The owner definitely knew how rare it was though.
I don't think I have any images of it, but might have a hard print somewhere. Gordon

Rare beastie! L 4698419 to 4699544 'Lorry 3 ton A/Tank Portee' to Contract CM4919.
I cannot recall having seen a photo of one, but I have of the Chevrolet C60L equivalent [6-pounder Portee]. I have official photos of the truck as built, which is indeed an interesting truck to behold at first glance with its # 43 Cab, and an IWM photo of a rebuild from late 1943 to 3-ton GS, with a modified # 43 Cab. I would suggest that GM of Canada may have used the same drawings as Vauxhalls. |

In the book of Vanderveen I have found a pics of Austin K5/YW portee
It is very very similar to the pics in the tread on Bedford QL http://www.mapleleafup.org/forums/sh...&threadid=2062 by Dave Cox I suppose that the truck in the desing is a n Austin, not a Bedford Thanks Attilio |
