You just can't seem to kill some cars...
Last Friday, my daughter left her car parked in a railway carpark at the local station while she took the train to work and stayed the night with a friend. Saturday morning a call from the police to say her car had been found on it's roof, causing a few moment's concern until it was explained it had go there courtesy of some rapscallions in a moment of youthful exuberance testing their manly strength on the poor car. ![]() What to do? Call a recovery flat top? Of course not, when there's a CGT in the area... ![]() The rest of the story may be found here.

Incidentally in a survey of vehicle accidents the Daihatsu Charade was named as the worst car to have a crash in with 30% more chance of passenger injuries than a mid size car, so perhaps it was for the best it was written off like this.

Glad my Mom didn't have access to the internet when I tottaled her car back in 73, sheesh parents and their computors and old trucks!
Reminded me though of our western Command outing earlier this month were we went down to Vancouvers Stanley Park to look over the largely Hidden WW2 implacements, coming back up a trail on foot I remembered that was the exact spot were I totaled my Mom's AMC Gremlin back in 73. Looked up (?) the Hill to find the tree I hit with a 32 year old hole in the bark were I hit it, Kicked the dirt around and found the broken pieces of the grill and lights. All to the amusement of my 2 boys, one of whom is just learning to drive, and to the horrer of my wife who didn't find it ammusing at all! |

That honda reminds me of that story about the guy who mounted a JATO rocket to his car. apparently he died during acceleration, and they found bone shards in the cliff face, about 100 feet above the road.
