UK & Canadian MTP20 Colours

On reading the posts and links on Maple Leaf, Light Green No.5 is given as the predominant disruptive colour in UK and Canada. Whereas MTP20 clearly states that Dark Green No.4 is to be used for average conditions with No.5 for very light backgrounds only. What evidence is there to support the use of Light Green No.5?

Secondly is there any evidence that Dark Tarmac No.4 is different to Dark Green No.4? I suspect that both might be the same colours, in the same way that middle bronze green and khaki green refer to the same colour.
